About the Filmmakers’ Gallery

HISTORY

Paul Belsito & Steven Roche created The Filmmakers' Gallery in 2012 in Long Beach, CA. A unique, multi-media space, they produced hundreds of screenings, events, book signings, fundraisers and educational programs - all with the goal of inspiring and enriching the local community and beyond. Past guests include:

Charmian Carr ("Liesl" from THE SOUND OF MUSIC), Rutanya Alda ("Carol Ann" from MOMMIE DEAREST; "The Bride" from THE DEER HUNTER), Kathy Garver ("Cissy" from FAMILY AFFAIR), Karen Sharpe-Kramer (I DREAM OF JEANNIE; THE HIGH AND THE MIGHTY; THE STANLEY KRAMER FILM FESTIVAL), a 30th Anniversary reunion of 3 cast members from THE COLOR PURPLE, including Rae Dawn Chong (QUEST FOR FIRE/COMMANDO), and acclaimed director Randal Kleiser (GREASE/THE BLUE LAGOON).

Since October, 2017, we have been expanding our Filmmakers' Gallery brand here in Palm Springs, CA. To date, we have produced screenings and/or fundraisers for the Palm Springs Cultural Center, the Aurelia Foundation, Desert AIDS Project, WeSPARK, and the Roar Foundation/Shambala Preserve. Films have included OPEN, VAMPIRE BOYS & FIRST PERIOD(with Director Charlie Vaughn), THE SOUND OF MUSIC(with Actress, Kym Karath "Gretl"), Alfred Hitchcock's MARNIE(with Actress/Author/Activist, Tippi Hedren), THE PRODUCERS(with TONY Award Winner, Actor, Gary Beach & Academy Award Winner, Jonathan Sanger) and the acclaimed documentary STRIKE A POSE(with Madonna's Ex-Dancers, Kevin Stea & Carlton Wilborn). Paul Belsito & Steven Roche of The Filmmakers' Gallery were featured on the cover of the December, 2017 issue of LIVE magazine; and have been featured in the Desert Sun newspaper, Palm Springs Life magazine, CBS' EYE ON THE DESERT and other news and media outlets.

Most recently, the dynamic producing/writing/hosting duo has embarked on their first television segment titled, appropriately, "THE FILMMAKERS' GALLERY" on the new LIVE MAGAZINE TV show, which airs every Saturday afternoon on the NBC affiliate KPSE here in the Coachella Valley. ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

Paul Belsito has over 20 years experience in the music industry, in all areas including songwriting, performing, managing, public relations and directing. He is a winner of several American Art Awards for his fine art, and is an award-winning filmmaker.

Steven Roche has over 25 years experience in the entertainment industry, in all areas including personal/literary manager, literary agent, art director, post-production, non-profit (staff and board), and producing and writing. With Paul, he has won several awards for the documentary TEACH YOUR CHILDREN WELL; which was narrated by Tony and EMMY Award-winner Lily Tomlin, directed by Gary Takesian and featured in two CNN segments. Steven is a long-time member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the WGA, Film Independent, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the International Documentary Association. Formerly, a member of the American Theatre Wing.
